crowdYou might have never heard of the term herding effect, but chances are you’ve been a participant. The herding effect is instinctual and who knows at what point we actually take on this trait… maybe at birth. It is our human tendency, to act and think like others. It may not sound that attractive but it’s really part of our internal desire to be part of the “norm” or what we do when we are afraid of loss.

  • When the stock market rises and falls herding takes place. People clamor to buy or sell on the dictation of the market
  • Computer and Internet service sales skyrocketed when the term Dot Com Boom became a “term”
  • Speculation dictated the inflated value of homes, people bought… in droves.
